This week a year ago...

Working from home is nice, but the first three days of this week last year were a bit more exciting. Hopefully the flight to CO tomorrow will step it up a notch...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Jules and I are in Oregon for the Thanksgiving with her family. It is great out here. On Wednesday we went to Crater Lake, had an amazing meal yesterday, wine tasting today, possibly cutting a Christmas tree down tomorrow. It makes me want to move west!

On Thursday I'm heading out to Beaver Creek for the World Cup downhill and will be there through Sunday - hope to see some of you guys that live in CO!

Tailgating with Tony Rice...

"Yo Tony, I just got engaged, what's the deal with the team? Nice Japan Bowl jacket - heard that went well. How about a picture?"

We spotted Tony Rice (ND's QB from the '88 championship team) tailgating next to us on Saturday. Jules decided to go chat with him and we ended up taking out picture with him. Sadly that was about the highlight of the day.

A year ago, our basements were flooded....

A year ago Jules and my basements flooded as we received one of the
heaviest rainfalls in South Bend's history. Thankfully the weather
looks a lot better this week and should be a great weekend for the MSU
game!

Chicago Half Marathon

Yesterday I ran my first Half marathon and finished in 2:08:31 and 5843 out of 14847, not bad for my first half marathon especially considering I signed up two weeks ago and did not really do very much training. It is a little depressing that the fastest runner finished over an hour ahead of me...

Juliana was originally going to run the 5k, but had to settle for being a spectator since her toe is still broken. It was fun though having Christine around, but this was just a warm up for her considering that she's running several marathons this year including the Disney World Goofy - Half Marathon on Saturday, Full Marathon on Sunday! That being said it was definitely a fun time. After the race, Juliana, Christine and I grabbed brunch and took advantage of free Cubs tickets that Christine's Mom had.

Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby.

With all the media coverage about helicopters and planes in New York, the FAA appears not to have noticed six F-16's that keep buzzing our apartment building!  (The Thunderbirds are practicing for this weekends Chicago Air & Water Show - Corby is hiding)
